Comparison

The habit layer that Alpha Progression is missing.

Alpha Progression's periodization algorithm is built on published exercise science. It's optimizing your program — not whether you show up to run it.

Which one fits you?

Choose SweatStreak if

  • You want the consistency mechanic first — a program only helps if you actually show up to run it
  • You want coaching suggestions with reasoning attached, alongside a streak that's front and center
  • You want a lighter, less data-dense interface focused on the daily habit

Choose Alpha Progression if

  • You want a periodization algorithm built on published strength-training research
  • You're optimizing pure progressive overload and want detailed RIR-based programming
  • You want multi-gym equipment profiles with automatic program adjustment

Frequently asked questions

Does SweatStreak do progressive overload like Alpha Progression?

SweatStreak tracks your progression per exercise — PRs, trends, a plain-language verdict — but it isn't a periodization engine, and it doesn't generate RIR-based programming the way Alpha Progression's Pro tier does. If deep periodization is your main need, that's Alpha Progression's specialty.

Is SweatStreak's coaching as research-backed as Alpha Progression's algorithm?

Alpha Progression's Pro algorithm is explicitly built on published meta-analyses of volume, intensity, RIR, and frequency. SweatStreak's coaching draws on established training principles too, but we're not claiming the same depth of published-research rigor behind every suggestion — they're different levels of the same idea.

Which one should I actually pick?

If you're already consistent and want to optimize the program itself, Alpha Progression's periodization tools are built for that. If consistency is still the harder problem, SweatStreak is built around solving that first.
